Principal - Owner
Peter Fairchild is the Principal of Fairchild Engineers & Builders, bringing over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, project management, and industrial system design. His career has been defined by delivering reliable, high-performance solutions across a diverse range of critical infrastructure sectors.
Peter has extensive experience supporting projects for the Department of Energy (DoE) and Department of Defense (DoD), where he has contributed to complex, high-security environments requiring strict compliance, precision, and reliability. His work in these sectors has strengthened his expertise in power system resilience, safety standards, and mission-critical operations.
In addition to federal projects, Peter has worked across oil and gas, water and wastewater, and industrial controls systems. He has led and supported the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical infrastructure for processing facilities, treatment plants, and industrial operations—ensuring systems are both efficient and built to withstand demanding operating conditions.
His technical background includes power distribution design, motor control systems, protection and coordination, and integration with automated control systems. Known for his practical, solutions-oriented approach, Peter focuses on delivering designs that not only meet engineering standards but also perform reliably in the field.
As Principal, Peter provides leadership across all phases of project execution, from early-stage consulting and design through construction and commissioning. He is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and client service, while continuing to grow Fairchild Engineers & Builders as a trusted partner in the industry.
Andrew Kersey B.S.E.E/B.S.C.E PE
Principal - Engineering
Andrew Kersey, P.E. serves as the Principal Engineer at Fairchild Engineers & Builders and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado and Vermont. He brings a strong background in electrical engineering and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) system design, with specialized expertise supporting Department of Energy (DoE) and Department of Defense (DoD) projects.
Andrew has extensive experience working within federal and mission-critical environments, including projects for the U.S. Space Force at Schriever Air Force Base. His work in these sectors requires strict adherence to federal standards, cybersecurity considerations, and highly reliable system performance. He is well-versed in navigating the complexities of DoE and DoD project requirements, including compliance, documentation, and coordination within secure and highly regulated facilities.
His experience includes the design and coordination of electrical systems that support critical operations, where downtime is not an option. Andrew understands the importance of redundancy, resilience, and safety in these environments, and consistently delivers solutions that meet the rigorous demands of federal infrastructure.
In addition to his federal project work, Andrew has a strong foundation in MEP design, developing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, and specialized facilities. His expertise includes power distribution, lighting design, and multidisciplinary coordination to ensure efficient and integrated building systems.
As Director of Engineering, Andrew leads technical execution across all projects, providing oversight, mentorship, and quality assurance. He is known for his disciplined, detail-oriented approach and his ability to deliver compliant, high-performance designs in even the most demanding environments.
